The M42 screw mount is one of the most versatile vintage lens mounts, used extensively by Pentax, Zenit, Praktica and many other manufacturers from the 1960s through 1980s.
This simple passive adapter allows any M42 lens to be mounted on Micro Four Thirds bodies with infinity focus.
No electronic contacts means fully manual aperture and focus control, but the vast range of affordable M42 glass makes this one of the most useful adapters in the collection.
A higher quality alternative to generic M42 to M4/3 adapters, K&F Concept are known for tight tolerances and good build quality.
This adapter provides a solid, wobble-free connection between M42 lenses and Micro Four Thirds bodies. Particularly useful with heavier M42 lenses like the Helios 44-2 where a secure mount is important.
Useful, often used (by me) and enables me to use a lot of my lenses on m43 bodies. A gem.
The Konica AR mount was used on Konica's SLR cameras from the late 1960s through to the 1980s. Konica produced some excellent lenses during this period, particularly their Hexanon range which are well regarded for sharpness and colour rendition.
This adapter opens up that range of glass for use on Micro Four Thirds bodies.
The C-Mount originated in the movie and CCTV industry and predates most photographic lens mounts. Many C-Mount lenses only cover a small image circle, resulting in heavy vignetting on Micro Four Thirds sensors — though this can be used as a creative effect. Some C-Mount cinema lenses do cover the full M4/3 frame. A fun adapter for experimental shooting.
I don't have many of these lenses and performance and artistic effects can vary.
Minolta's MD and MC mount lenses were produced from the late 1950s through to the 1980s and are highly regarded in the vintage lens community. The Rokkor range in particular is famous for excellent optical quality and beautiful rendering.
This Fotga adapter allows the full range of Minolta MD and MC lenses to be used on Micro Four Thirds bodies with infinity focus.
The Pentax K mount was introduced in 1975 and Pentax produced a huge range of lenses under this mount including the excellent SMC Takumar and SMC Pentax series. This Fotga adapter allows Pentax K mount lenses to be used on Micro Four Thirds bodies. Pentax K lenses are plentiful and affordable, making this a very useful adapter for exploring vintage glass.
This is one of my favourite adapters as I have a good few vintage Pentax lenses. They produce excellent images.
The L39 or LTM (Leica Thread Mount) is a screw mount used on Leica and many Soviet rangefinder cameras including FED, Zorki and early Kiev models. Many classic lenses were made in this mount including the Jupiter series from the Soviet Union, which are affordable copies of pre-war Zeiss designs. This adapter allows L39 lenses to be used on Micro Four Thirds bodies.
(Pen F to Fuji X) The Olympus Pen F was a unique half-frame film camera system from the 1960s producing lenses with a distinctive character. The Pen F lenses, while designed for a smaller image circle, can produce interesting results on APS-C sensors. This Fotodiox adapter allows Olympus Pen F lenses to be used on Fuji X mount bodies, opening up a rare and interesting range of vintage glass.
I only have 2 lenses but they are tiny - for their focal length and fun to use.
Allows the use of M42 screw mount lenses on Canon EOS bodies. As the Canon EF mount has a longer flange distance than M42, this adapter maintains infinity focus without the need for a corrective lens element. Fully passive with no electronic contacts, requiring manual aperture control. Works with both full frame and APS-C Canon bodies.
Some lenses may have difficulty with infinity focus on Canon 5D. I'm looking at YOU Industar.
Allows the extensive range of M42 screw mount lenses to be used on Sony E-Mount bodies including my A7R iiia camera. On full frame Sony bodies, M42 lenses cover the entire sensor giving their intended field of view. The combination of Sony's excellent sensor and vintage M42 glass is very popular, particularly for portrait and street photography.
I have a good few M42s which produce very good images with the A7R.
